Me too Jen. I'd leave it there for the crows. They'd think ice cream was a very special treat. I once saw a wild life tv show about crows, apparently they're very family oriented and like to live in large crow communities. They will find objects to use as a tool to get to hard to reach food and are quite intelligent. They can sound very annoying, though, if one of these communities is near your home. There used to be a big one by the freeway at Burnaby Lake. I don't know if it's still there. My friend in LA moved into a new house and a crow kept coming up to him in the back yard. They became pretty good pals as the crow got more and more tame. Maybe he fed it ice cream! Happy New Year!
Does the 5 second rule apply to ice cream? I don't think so. Likely a too bad so sad situation. I would hope that it would happen close enough to the store that I could get another one to replace it.
I think i would leave it on the ground Jen. Generally i pick up food i have dropped and eat it anyway but in this case the ice cream would be full of dirt. The question is would i clean it up? Yes i would if I had a way to do it.
I remember on my 6th birthday my mum gave my friends ice cream cones and one of the girls dropped her cone and then slipped on it!! That was the end of my party as she banged her head badly. I was so upset. I completely forgot about that until you asked this question. Never thought dropping an ice cream cone would be such a big deal.
