The English language is strange. In this case the Y and the U sound the same. Yet if you changed the words to Uellow Ynicorn they wouldnt be pronounced the same at all.
Y and U carry different sounds. Y makes only 3 different sounds depending on the place it holds. Y at the beginning says /y/ for yellow, at the end y says /i/ like fly and ending again as a suffix is /e/ like candy. There are always exceptions but in the case of the yellow unicorn, they are different. Uni is a prefix meaning one which is why it can not be transposed with a different sound.
Jen, I love your painting and the discussions that it creates.
I watch your Venezuela video Eddie and thought it was amazing! I can't wait to read your diary too. I like the way the colors flow in the yellow unicorn Jen. Thanks for the English lesson Owen! Geoff
Dear Jen, I keep looking “high and low” to see a Unicorn. Your painting has given me insight to how I have been looking. Instead of looking at wide open fields or rocky mountain sides I need to look for these shy creatures hiding in a grove of trees, or nestled in behind The Little Dipper, or perhaps in the reflection of a giant Sitka tree in the Tlell River. The emanating golden light from the yellow horn, which you can see and you showed me in your painting, will show me where to see the amazing creature! Thank you! Love Cousin Tess

I don’t see a unicorn- which isn’t to say it isn’t a unicorn- but I do see a lot of fiery dragon breath!!!
