What have you learned from your parents?
They are always telling me to get out and do stuff and meet people. I remember I got in to an arguement with my mom one about going to the library. I didn't want to go but my mom said it was good for me to get out. My parents never let me watch t.v in the daytime and I never understood why when I was little but I think I understand now. It's because there is so much time in the day to do things and if you watch t.v all day, you would never get anything done. I have learned a lot from my parents over the years. What have you learned from your parents?

You ask great questions Jen! My Mom taught me a lot just by setting a good example. Mom was a hard worker, loyal, dedicated, outgoing, kind, giving. She was a great person. Whenever I think about doing better in any part of my life, my Mom is the standard I measure myself against. She set the bar very high. I lost her quite a while ago, and I miss her quiet strength.

Every parent teach their children differently. Parents didn't really talk to us, the children very much as they worked very hard. There were always people coming and going in our house as my mom not just have us the children, there were also cousins stayed with us. My mom helped many people to become independent as a dressmaker. Indonesian women at the time were still very behind in thinking compare to western women. I was basically growing up in warehouse! The sewing machines were running non stop. My dad was very quiet, simple and kind. I wish I remember some of our conversations we had but I don't. I just remember there were a lot of laughter and argument as there were so many people around. I do miss my parents very much. I wish I knew them better. I love them more today as I understand life better.
