Doesn’t look like a donut because there isn’t a hole in the middle. It looks more like a cinnamon bun or one of those large lollipops 🍭 that you can buy. Looks very sweet though.
This looks like a fancy version of French Palmier cookies. They're made with layers of puff pastry, cinnamon and sugar. Yum so good, and yep, pretty fattening. Barbara
Have to agree with your Mom and Barbara on this one. But I am more liberal in my interpretation of a donut. Or is that doughnut?? To me a donut can be any shape. As a child we used to go to a store called Woodwards which was a dept. store. They had a machine that dropped the dough into the boiling fat then flipped them over when they were half cooked (cause they floated). It was so cool to watch.
Oh boy,Jen. That is one big fancy donat you made...yummy! One time I worked at a fancy bakery where they made many different kind of cakes, breads and donuts as well. We made donut many from different kind of flours and my favorite one was the ones we made from potato flour donut. They were softer and tastier. I love the smell of bakery because of the new baked breads and the cakes...
