Have you ever been to the hospital or a home?

I went to Surrey Memorial hospital today to prepare for moving out. I am going to visit a home called Maple House. It sounds really good. Have you ever been to the hospital or a home?

  1. I'm glad that you were checking around, Jen. I have stayed in the hospital for a few days when I had a hysterectomy and I actually liked it. It was peacefully healing time for me. As you know I have worked for a nursing home and assisted living and they seem alright. You must be nervous and excited at the same time. I remember when I was about moving to Canada, I was very so nervous I couldn't slept well for many nights! But I'm glad that I made the move! Enjoy the ride, Jen. Life is a journey!

  2. I've been in a hospital when I had our 2 sons. The nurrses were so nice. It felt unfamiliar at first and I was nervous but the nurses were so kind that I enjoyed my time there with my sons. They seemed to go out of their way to make me feel everything was ok. Way back then, they kept a new mom in hospital for a week. Now they aend mom and baby home in a day!
I'm glad you had the chance to visit the hospital before you move out. I'm sure you'll find people are very kind and helpful.

  3. Wow, this is such a big step Jen. I'm not sure I'm ready for it! That would be amazing if you could live on your own and come and visit us. The last time I was in hospital was when I had my hip operation in 2015. It's hard to believe that ever happened because I feel so healthy now. You have been such a big part of our lives Jen. I must admit I have mixed feelings about your moving out. Dad

I have some clients that live in assisted living homes, and i will go and visit them there.

  5. Hey Jen, what a surprise, what a new adventure you are navigating for yourself! I am really impressed, you are stepping out of your comfort zone in a big way. I have been trying to do that in a very small way all of my life. It's called something like "not wanting to sleep walk through life" . Sometimes taking the route less travelled leads to interesting and unexpected adventures. You also better be prepared for some hardship as you got a pretty good gig going at home. I cannot really comment on hospital living directly because I have been so darn fortunate health wise up to now. I have and do however try and visit those that do as often as possible. One of course who you know is Gordie McGee. It is not a place I like very much either so wherever you decide to locate I hope it's not there. Best of luck to you Jen and looking forward to seeing you on the 24th, U. Nick

  6. Hey Jenn. Thats very cool. Good to start looking around. I am pleased that you sound encouraged by it. A big step to leave home but it can also be bery gratifying and would give you opportunities to expand your world. Good luck as you navigate this new opportunity. Fortunately I have been in the hospital only once 40 years ago and have not stayed in a home although I have visited some really nice ones.
