I had my first night of dance on Thursday. I left early because I wasn't used to it. At the end the dance was hard for me. Have you ever been to a dance class?
Wow, a dance class sounds like so much fun for you! I went to a class called jazzercise many years ago. It was fun. It combined dance and exercise. I also went to a different type of dance/exercise class a couple of years ago and it was too way difficult for me, but still fun. Part of the benefit is learning something new, meeting new people and experiencing a change in your daily routine. It can be difficult but it's all good. Barbara
Your mom and I went to dance class once but she complained that I stepped on her feet too much. Is this All Bodies Dance you are going to Jen? That's so amazing and I'm so proud of you. I can't wait to go to the concert in the spring! I know it's really tiring for you Jen, but Barbara is right, it's great to get out and meet new people. Dad
I was coerced by my parents to go to the Arthur Murray School of dance with 4 school pals and 5 girls when I was 13 and hated every minute of it!! It was truly an imposition and I was too young but the idea was right. I agree with the others above. Feeling the music as well as listening to the music is a wonderful thing. I admire your courage for stepping out and taking a risk. You also might meet some interesting people. Good job Jen! U. Nick
Good for you for putting yourself out there and doing your best. I used to go to Jazzercise 3 days per week and felt very out of place and awkward in the beginning but each time I went it became more familiar although I still and always feel clumsy. I did try belly dancing once and I was lost in moving my hips as I have no natural rythmn. I didn't go to the second class which wasn't a good thing as I should have persisted! Happy dancing.

ReplyDeleteI had and didn't like it, Jen. I rather like dancing on my own, move my body freely following my own heart rhythm.
