story part 8

"It'll be all right, said Sofia's instructed, just go out there and skate your best."

"Ok," said Sofia nervously.

After she did the compition she had to wait until all the other competitors were done skating before she knew if she had won or not.

When all the competitors were done skating, Sofia's skating instructed gave her a silver ribbon and said, "you won silver in the junior round of skating."

On the way home Sofia asked, "can I get a tattoo for my birthday?"

"Sure, you can," said their dad sarcastically.

"Dad, be serious." said Sofia frustrated.

"Yes, you may get a tattoo for your birthday but we aren't paying for it," said their mom.

"Can I get one too?" Piped up Charlie from the backseat.

"No, you can't, you're too young," said their mom.

story part 7

"I know, but I'm determined," said Sofia, "so can I have lessons?"

"We'll see," said their mom."

The next day their mom said to Sofia, "you can have skating lessons as long as you do your homework first, I sined you up for lessons on Monday and Thursday nights, I hope that's ok."

"Thanks mom," said Sofia.

The first skating lesson was hard on Sofia's back, but as she made friends it got easier and easier. Soon she was doing jumps and spins. The skating instructer was so pleased by her progress, that she signed Sofia up for a competition. Sofia practiced and practiced for it. On competition day Sofia was full of nerves.

"It'll be all right, said Sofia's instructed, just go out there and skate your best."

"Ok," said Sofia nervously.

story part 6

Two years later Charlie got a skateboard for his 12th birthday. He was so glad to finially get a skateboard. Sofia loved to watch him skate on his rollerskates or play on his skateboard.

"Don't fall down and hurt yourself," Sofia warned.

"Oh, sister you're such a worry wart," said Charlie.

"Of course I am, you're my brother," said Sofia.

On Sofia's 17th birthday, she got ice skates.

"I can't wait to go to a skating arena and try them out, will you go with me mom?"

"Sure I will," said their mom, "we can make it a family thing."

When they got there, Sofia put on her skates and fell down because the ice was so slippery. Sofia got up and tried again. It wasn't so bad the second time around.

On the ride Sofia asked their mom and dad, "can I please have ice skating lessons?"

"We'll see," said their mom."

The next day their mom said to Sofia, "you can have skating lessons as long as you do your homework first."

"Thanks mom," said Sofia.

story part 4

In the little town of Riverdell by the sea, there was a majestic and beautiful house, in which Sofia and Charlie lived with their parents, Miranda and Rafael. The house was white with blue shutters, a beautiful garden out back was filled with all kinds of flowers. On land you could feel the sea spray when it was windy and see the white caps as the wind blew through the sea. Sofia and Charlie's parents moved to the house by the sea 2 years ago. Sofia didn't want to leave her friends. Her brother didn't talk much, so he had no friends. Sofia talked a lot and had lots of friends.

Sofia was impulsive and wild while her brother, Charlie was the opposite, he was obedient and compassionate. Charlie was the angel of the family while Sofia did her own thing. Sofia's and Charlie's hair were both brown. They had opposite haircuts, Sofia's was a pixie cut, Charlie had long curly hair that fell to his shoulders. Their mom was kind and loving. Their dad was tough and hardworking.

After Sofia, Charlie and her parents were having dinner, Sofia asked, "can I get a Walkman for my birthday?"

"Yes, you may," said their mom, "as long as you do your homework before listening to it."

Just before Charlie went to bed, he asked through a yawn, "can I have a skateboard for my birthday."

"We will see," said their dad, "good night."

Charlie's room had midnight blue wallpaper with glow in the dark stars above his bed. It gave an Azure light. He had white stars on his coverlet. Looking down at his sleeping face, you can tell that he looked younger and worry free. The coverlet didn't quite cover his pajamas which had blue stars on them. On the desk in the corner of the room there a model of the solar system that he was building. It had four little drawers in it. The desk was dark blue with white stars on it. It was a little boy's room.

Their dad went downstairs to join the rest of the family. After Sofia finished reading a chapter of her book, she went up to bed. Her book was about a unicorn bestowing a gift on a fairy.

"I'll be up in a minute," called their mom.

On the way to Sofia's room, their mom looked in on Charlie. He was fast asleep.

Sofia's room had white wallpaper with pink unicorns on it. She had glow in the dark stars above her bed also. Sofia had a pink shelf above her with a stuffed unicorn and fairy on it. The coverlet on her bed had a big white unicorn on it. Sofia was sitting up in bed reading when her mom came in.

"Not too late, okay sweetie," said their mom.

"Ok, mom," said Sofia.

Sofia's pajamas were white with a big, pink unicorn on them. On the desk in the corner was a jigsaw puzzle of a unicorn.

Sofia sighed and put down her book and reached over and turned out the light she been reading by. She snuggled under her coverlet and was soon asleep. Sofia dreamed about a fairy petting a unicorn. She was the fairy although she didn't know it yet. The unicorn's name was Pearl.

When Charlie's tenth birthday came, he was the usual excited little boy. When he woke up in the morning he ran downstairs where his family waited for him to open his presents. Besides getting roller skates, Charlie got a new bike and some toy cars, besides some other presents.

Charlie ran outside and put on his new roller skates. Their dad tried and failed to teach him how to use them. When their dad put them after Charlie had a turn, he looked pretty funny. Their dad kept falling down on the pavement and hurting himself. He couldn't balance on them.

"I will ask every birthday if I can get a tattoo then," said Sofia grudgingly.

At this Charlie looked smug. Earlier, he had asked their dad for roller skates but their dad had said the same thing. When Sofia saw his smug expression, she looked down at her plate. It was white with blue birds around the edge.
