I remember when I was in school, we had a assignment to write about our family history. I don`t remember what grade I was in. I don`t remember anything that I learned about my family history though. What do you remember about your family history?
I don't know much of my family history, Jen. I only know my parents names, where they were born, how many siblings they have and my grandparents can go as far as their names only. As my grandparents were died before I was even born. In Indonesia, we don't usually se last name as here in Canada and other western countries. So, it is very hard to track down your family history. Indonesia is a big country and very populous but we are not very well educated as in general and we were colonized by many countries for very long time. But we are catching up with the rest of the world.
Hi Jen My grandparents on both sides were from Europe. They came to Canada to farm. They lived a simple life, growing and preserving everything they used, living off the land. I know it was a very hard life but simplicity has it's merits. I feel a strong nostalgic pull to all things relating to that life, though we moved away from it when I was little. In my mind, simple is better. I started a new painting yesterday. A portrait, as I mentioned I would. I've sketched it and will begin painting soon. I really like your new style of painting very much. It's fun to try new things. Barbara
We know a lot about our family history Jen. But it is too long to explain here. We have many books that have been written about it that you could read.. Dad
