questions and answers

The pain does get better Rita. I remember when Fluffy died I cried everyday and missed her so much. I thought I never get over it. Now I sometimes think of her. What kind of gesture did Indy give you?

  1. Thank you, Jen. My friends from our church said the same thing this morning, the pain will soften and of course I don't want to ever forget John. Indy was waiting restlessly for the morning stuff yesterday so I let her out from the kennel and she was kind of being playful with me. She looked at me and giving me the usual puppy look plus the ears up ready to guard! And of course I fell for it...then gave her a kiss. Then I had a great day because of it.

  2. I can't imagine losing a loved one so young and unexpectedly Rita. God comforts his people. He said in his word, the bible, that he is deeply touched with our sorrows. He is with you every day to comfort you. Stay strong, Rita, knowing friends are often thinking of you, including me.

  3. Geoff and Barbara, losing your life partner is harder than you might ever imagined. But there is a pure love in your heart for that person helps you to keep going. I feel more secured walking on this earth knowing John is with me along the way. I see life so different than how it was. I don't get sweat over simple things anymore, in other words life becomes sweeter and more purposefull. You have more compassion for others and yourself.

  4. Hi Rita. Your comments ring very true for me as well. I have not lost a life partner but I did lose my son. I'm sure that there are similarities but at the same time they are very different. We grow older knowing that there is a good chance that are partners will pass before us but it must be so hard to believe when it actually happens and at a younger age. My heart goes out to you. As Jennifer said the emotion does get easier but I have found that without the emotion there is no loss so I now relish the emotion because I feel closer to him.

  5. Losing someone you love is something you never can be ready for no matter how much warning you are given. It changes you forever. Your emotions are so strong that they leave a permanent mark.
I have a leather bracelet from Canuck Place that says something like:
“‘‘This is the Now, the moment you are in. Live it well with a loving heart. Saviour life.
