I had some friends in elementary school and some friends in high school. I didn't really get a friend that I could get to know until I went to youth group at church.
My first few friends were cousins and then I had few friends at the elementary school but I don't remember them. My first best friend was a classmate from junior high who I just got connected again last year through a social media! I think it's very hard to find someone who you can get connected with and when you find one you should treasure it. It takes a lot of effort to build a long lasting friendship, Jen. My favorite friend was my husband and I miss him very much because of that. I know I will have another special friend again in the future but I know how hard it is to find the good one. Don't give up, Jen. I'm sure you will have new friends again, just don't be shy. We just have to be open.
My best friend in elementary school was a girl that lives two doors down. Anne and I played together every day. In high school it was Ralph. We played street hockey with the neighbourhood kids. He now lives in Wales and is a veterinarian. I got to see him a few years ago. I played sports on the weekends and after school. Being involved in sports or another activity definitely expands your friend circle because you know that you share at least one interest.
Hi Jen, church is a great place to meet people. You already have one thing in common, a love of God. Maybe you might go to a church group again one day. Barbara
You had lots of friends at Church youth group. There was Jen and Tanya we went to the aquarium with, do you remember? And Meaghan. And then of course there was Geo, who spent Christmas with us the year before last. But I think Rachel is your best friend isn't she? Dad
You never know where you will find your next friend. You just have to get out there and meet people. Friends require a bit of effort but it is definitely worth it. Finding new friends and keeping old friends is time well spent.
