The greatest sacrifice that my mom and dad made for me was that when I was in the hospital when I was really sick. My mom would stay with me all day and my dad would stay with me all night. My mom didn't get to see my sisters very much. What did your parents sacrifice for you?
Yes, your parents and many other parents have to sacrifice a lot for their children. My parents worked very hard to raise 10 children without getting any help from the government for their children education and health care. I still cannot imagine how hard it was for them; having the worries, responsibilities and kept up with the energies of raising all of us, the children. My dad worked himself to death and so did my mother worried herself right to the end! Any child will never be able to pay them back, not me, you or anybody period. That is why we have to love, respect, and honor them as we are nothing without them. I miss my parents dearly and regret for wasting the time doing nothing for them while they were still around. I'm sorry if I made you feel down, Jen.
ReplyDeleteYes Jen, parents are a blessing. Everything they do is motivated by devotion to their children, though children don't always see it that way.
ReplyDeleteMy mom was also devoted to my sister and I, she worked very hard to provide for us.
I'm glad you realize how much your parents love you.

ReplyDeleteGreat topic Jen! I think parents sacrifice as much as they need to to get the job done. In your case we had to sacrifice more for you than we did for Sally and Lucy. Probably it was difficult for them to understand, but hopefully they will one day. We love you all the same. My parents made sure we had the best education and sacrificed financially to make sure that happened. I am sure they would have sacrificed more if they needed to. Dad
My parent's sacrificed their time, money, emotions, love, nurturing, among many other things. I wasn't the easiest kid to raise and it must have been difficult a lot of the time for my mom and dad. But it is in this circle of life, we get brought into this world which is a beautiful thing on its own, and then we must pay it forward unto others with just as much love and nurturing that we are able to humanly give. I see this blog that you write as your mechanism of giving back to others. I know readers especially me have learned so much more about you and gained a lot of perspective thanks to you and your writing, and your painting. keep it up. Eddie
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said Edward.
