Have you ever left something where it was? Why?

I remember when we were at Fairweather on Bowen Island, I saw some beautiful flowers. I couldn't pick them because I was in the car. I didn't know what the flowers were called but they were purple and looked like bells. Have you ever left something where it was? Why?

  1. Yes. On many occasions
I have left things where they were. Mostly as I recall it was to let the owner retrieve whatever they left behind. A glove or umbrella say. Leaving a flower allows others to also enjoy what you have seen and allows it to live longer. A good choice.

  2. Those were bluebells Jen. It is always good to leave flowers for others to enjoy not to mention the bees. I think most people usually leave things where they are. For one thing it takes effort to move things. That's why people's spaces are often a mess. I usually try to leave people's stuff where it is so that they can hopefully find it again. But often I am tempted to tidy up such as in the case of your sisters' rooms. Dad

  3. Most of the times I left them as they were except one time my husband and I went for a walk and couldn't myself, I picked up some wild flowers and put them in my hair. The flowers had a beautiful fragrant and I could smelled them while I was walking but alas...my husband was very upset with me. Needless to say, I don't dare to do it again. But I still collect some wild black berries on side of the road though.

  4. Ha ha, my husband often says I 'hide' his things when he's looking for something. Actually the item will be just where it belongs. OK I'm guilty, I can't help putting things away, I can't leave things where they are!! Neat home, peaceful mind. Ancient Chinese Wisdom. (or maybe it's just my wisdom!!)
I totally agree with leaving wild flowers where they're planted. I love walking the hills, just to see what is blooming and where. I know where all the good places are here.

  5. That's a nice story about the flowers at Fairweather. the flowers there are beautiful.

I try to leave stuff where it is. Otherwise i'll forget where i put it. So as long as there is a specific place for everything, i'll be able to find it when i most need it. Like my car keys. They always go on the key hangar at the front door, so i always know where they are.
