On the way home Sofia asked, "can I get a tattoo for my birthday?"
"Sure, you can," said their dad sarcastically.
"Dad, be serious." said Sofia frustrated.
"Yes, you may get a tattoo for your birthday but we aren't paying for it," said their mom.
"Can I get one too?" Piped up Charlie from the backseat.
"No, you can't, you're too young," said their mom.
Over the next couple of months Sofia worked very hard as a babysitter. Soon she got enough money to pay for a tattoo. She rode to the tattoo parlor. The tattoo parlor was bright white.
The man behind the white desk came over and said, "welcome to the KIngdom of Fantasy tattoo parlor, I'm Tim, how can I help you today?"
"I, would like to get a tattoo," said Sofia.
"Permanent or temporary?" asked Tim.
"Permanent please," said Sofia.
"As you may have guessed from the name of the parlor, we only do fantasy tatoos."
Sofia followed Tim into a room that looked like a doctors office.
"Lie down on the table and we'll begin," said Tim, "where would you like your tattoo?"
Oh boy Jen, you've mastered the art of the cliffhanger! I can't wait to hear what tatoo she chooses and where it goes. Body art has been around for hundreds of years in many cultures. I guess people might take comfort in looking back at their life in the images they had tatooed on various important occasions. Maybe it's kind of like a very personal living photo album.

It's getting warmer here, Jen. Where the tattoo is going to? Will it a big one or just a small cute one? I hope it will be a tiny tattoo around Sofia's ankle where everybody could see it while she's doing her jump! I think it will looks very tasteful. Or am I ahead of myself, Jen?
