Do you remember any of your teachers?

I don't remember any of my teachers very well to make up a song about them. Do you remember any of your teachers?

  1. It was a long time ago but I remember an English Literature teacher who was very engaging and funny! She made me really want to read more books! Also a History teacher who related well to students and had us do really interesting projects that helped us feel like history affected us all. My Biology teacher, I can't remember at all! But biology was my favourite class, so they must have been a very good teacher!

  2. Yes, I remember a few of my old teachers, Jen. Either because they were really good or bad. I don't remember the boring average ones though! My English teacher miss Dahlia was my favorite one. She made learning English was fun and exciting. I tried to find her through social media and old classmates but nobody knows where she is now. I think she would be very proud of me, if she knew that I am here in Canada because of her enthusiasm of teaching. And other one was the religious teacher who was always got mad at us, the students! I used to sit still and look down while wishing she wouldn't see me. Alas, she always noticed me and asked me some questions that I didn't know the answers. And of course, she would pinched me. It was brutal, when I think about it. At that time it was acceptable for teachers to physically abuse the students when the students didn't the answers of their questions. I hope they don't do that anymore.

  3. I remember all my teachers Jen.  Both the good ones and the bad ones.  Some I liked and some I didn't. Most of them were good.  I could probably make up a song about them if I had that skill.  My favorite teacher was a man called Colin Skinner.  He used to give us a chocolate bar every time we found a spelling or grammatical error in the newspaper.  I remember a French teacher, Ms. Watti, who used a tape recorder to record our voices which we thought was amazing.

  4. Hi Jen, the teacher i most remember is Margaret Skinner. She was my math teacher for grade 11 and grade 12, as well as calculus. I have her to thank for the displine of good note taking, studying hard, completing homework ontime, and becoming advanced at math. To this day, she has been one of the more influential people in my life and set me on a course to where i am now, involved in finance and using math every day. I still stay in touch with her and we share fond stories of those days in high school.

  5. I remember one elementary teacher names Mrs. Kennedy. She was so nice and always had a smile. She was a very warm person.
I also remember the teaches in grade 11 and 12 because they gave me the freedom to make my own choices and take charge of my learning after I had a few bad years in another school.

  6. Hi Jen,
    Interesting question… hhmmm…

I remember a few. In grade 4, my first year at this new elementary school, If we did something the teacher, Miss Weldon, didn’t like, we were called up to the front of the room. She would ask the student to bend over, snd with the yard stick she would smack their bottom , shouting simultaneously, “Oh Baby!”

It wasn’t a hard hit, and we would all laugh.

My favorite teacher, Mrs. Hoyse, was grade 8 English history. Henry 8th.
She was young, maybe 30, wore colourful horizontal striped stretchy t-shirt dresses and wooden clogs. Always a twinkle in her eyes and a big heart. Being a person, a kind and caring person. Her priority was for each of us to know how much we mattered just as we were. She wanted us to know everyone counted. She respected each of unique selves.

Almost all the other teachers were “old.” White hair, wrinkled, and wanted the Students to be smart. They seemed to only like the students who got A’s.

School wasn’t my favorite place on the planet.
