my dream is to not have a job. this idea of finding a job that you love is not how i think about work. There are so many things I want to do in my life, learn languages, share with family, friends, love, travel, experience ....live. work is not living. work is necessary because it gives us money so we can use that money as a tool to achieve our higher goals. but no work can be a dream, at least for me.
but, if you really want an answer, i'd say an F1 driver. i like to go fast :)
My dream job is to be a master gardener and a pro golfer. I would like to be able to talk confidently about plants like Brian Minter. And I would like to be able to impress people with my golf swing and score. Right now I can do neither.
I have quite a few dream jobs. I would like to be a concert pianist, a (brilliant!) writer, a concert classical guitarist, a dancer, a yogi who levitates!, a brilliant artist, a university professor, an inventor of very cool useful things like the zipper or Velcro or the sewing machine, a parkour athlete, a base jumper, a bird. I think being a bird like a swallow or an eagle would be a very cool job. While I am unlikely to achieve any of these dream jobs I was very fortunate to actually have another of my dream jobs in this lifetime: to have a bunch of kids and be their mum.
Hi Jen, As the years go by, things change. I was fortunate to have my dream job that I as a little girl I knew I was born to do. That was to be a massage therapist. I didn't know away back that massaging elders, people living with cancer, pain management and all the heart breaks accompanying these scenarios was to become my specialty. I loved my work for 25 years. Then one day my body got tired. To answer today your question, my "job" is experiencing whatever and all that the day brings to me. Feeling it, understanding it, and finding a creative avenue to express it. Today's creativity is in the kitchen first time preparing oxtail stew, something your Great Aunt Ann made for our family growing up. A rat colony has turned up in the crawl space after the freeze up here, and are making themselves quite at home.! Stinky!!! Tomorrow a fellow is coming to move and clear out their temporary lodgings and clean with whatever which will get rid of very pukey smells. There had been carpets, rugs, blankets and pillows which made for very cozy nests!
maybe you could paint a picture of an amazing secret garden designed by your Dad in the woods further down the beach from here. I will put it outside the basement door for the rats with directions attached where they will find a beautiful garden awaiting their residency!!
Jen you would be an incredible writer and should really pursue that. My daughter is a copy writer and a very good one too. She cannot stand anyone in the family making a “spelling mistake” and genuinely looks very upset when that happens:). Why don’t you start by writing a short story and she can help you edit it? My dream job has always been to become a fully qualified nurse since I was a young girl. It’s one of the most noble professions and it’s importance and impact was more amplified and appreciated during the pandemic. It is still in my bucket list and I often have fleeting thoughts of pursuing it from where I left off as an HCA. Zen
