I don't know much about celebrity role models. I like Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast and in Harry Potter. I think she does a good job as Bell in Beauty and the Beast and in Harry Potter. I didn't know that Emma sang so beautifully. Who is one of your favorite celebrity role models?
My celebrity role model is Tom Hanks. Some people say he looks like me. I think he's a really good actor and director. And I think he does good things in life generally. I'm not a big fan of celebrities in general though.

ReplyDeleteEmma Thompson, a British actor. Most recently I saw a eulogy by her on youtube of her dear friend and fellow actor Alan Rickman. He died seven years ago; the you tube came out last October Her depth of love, understanding, compassion, joy, challenges, integrity, respect, admiration, humour, honesty, generosity (I could go on) touched me deeply as she is all of that in her life’s work on stage and in film. To me, she experiences Life as it is, with a gentleness and tenderness accompanying her contemplation and listening, compassion and wonder.
She inspires me greatly.

Hi Jennifer, I like Bill Nighy, the British actor! (He was the octopus thing called Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies). I like his gentle nature, his quiet but dry, quirky sense of humour. I might be wrong as I know nothing about him as a person other than through his performance in movies, but he seems not to be self absorbed or egotistical, seems patient, thoughtful and kind, low key. If I were to choose a celebrity to be my father, Bill Nighy is hands down my choice. Pippa

ReplyDeleteMy celebrity role model is Michelle Obama. I read her wonderful autobiography and I met her in Nairobi before she became First Lady. At the time Barack Obama was the Senator and we were the designated in house caterers for the American Embassy. We organized the tea and I personally got to shake hands and exchange pleasantries with both of them as well as their two young girls.
