  1. Yes, I just read a book called the Woman Who Smashed Codes. It's about an American woman who broke Nazi codes during World War II to help win the war. It's a true story about a person who is not very well known. Dad

  3. Good morning Jen,

Always a treasured moment when one finds a particularly moving and resonating book. I hope one comes your way soon, Jen!

I have just finished a great book, The Bone People by Māori author Keri Hulme. Part autobiographical. Won the Booker Prize, The Pegasus Prize for Literature as well as the Prize for Māori Literature.

“They were nothing more than people, by themselves. Even paired, any pairing, they would have been nothing more than people by themselves. But all together, they have become the heart, and muscles and mind of something perilous and new,
Something strange and growing and great.
Together, all together, they are the instruments of change.”

  4. Hi Jennifer,
I just finished reading a wonderful book called Foster by Claire keagan. It is a short book, a novella, I suppose. The story takes place in Ireland in recent times and is about a little girl, from a large, poor Catholic family, who is sent to live with an aunt and uncle for the summer. I loved the book and highly recommend it. I have ordered the author’s other books from the library.
