Hi Jen, Did you know that some of the most famous painters (past and present) would often create such paintings to leave it up to the observer to get their own interpretation. I see trees in the night time and find it quite beautiful. AP
Hi Jen, It definitely has an atmosphere, a mood, of its own making! It has me look deep inside myself. I like it very much. The image I see is the reflection of autumn trees on a lake, in the wee lite of a partially cloud covered full moon. Harvest moon it’s called in the Fall. I think one of my favourites of your paintings! Love Cousin Tess
The darkness may reflect your feelings at the moment. That is common for artists. I know your pain has returned, so to me this is a reflection of how you are feeling. Of course you don’t like the art work you have crates, just like you don’t like being in pain.
I see a dark place in space. It's how I imagine a black hole might look. I like all the comments. It's just shows you, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I can tell from your other paintings that you love bright colours, Jen. It isn’t easy stepping out of what we like and are familiar with, what we are most comfortable with. It says a lot that you were willing to try something different even if you don’t like the results. It says that you are not afraid to try new things, to experiment, to challenge yourself. It also say alot that you are not afraid of trying something new and having that something not work out to your satisfaction. I love it that you share that experiment with the world instead of only showing the artwork that pleases you! I suspect that as you keep playing with the darker color tones you will find an expression that you like. It may be a mix of vibrant colors and darker colors; it may be that you need to give yourself time to get used to working with the darker tones. Myself, I like this painting. I find it mysterious and quiet. Pippa
