What was the most memorable trip your family has been on?

I remember when I went to Palm Desert with my family. I don't remember how old my sisters and I were. We went there on a plane. I had to sit in my comode seat all the way there because the normal seats wouldn't support me. I would fall over. When we got there I had to be put in my manual wheelchair. I had one made because if my other one broke down I would still have a wheelchair to get around in.I didn't like Palm Desert. It was partly because I couldn't get around on my own. The other part was that it was boring for me. What was the most memorable trip your family has been on?

  1. My first memorable trip with my parents is when I was about four years old. It was our trip to visit my paternal grandparents about four hours drive out of town. I remember the journey of passing the rubber plantation, which was amazing! I thought to myself "Wow, the trees are moving" instead of the car was moving. How silly it was to think that way, huh. The rest of the story is not very fun as my grandma was very straight, so she didn't let me touch anything in the house. I probably was a very wild young toddler with tons of energy!

  2. My most memorable trip was the one you spoke of Jen.  I compare it to going to the moon because we had to take everything with us and if we forgot something we would have been in big trouble.  And we had to get evacuation coverage because our medical insurance wouldn't cover is there.  I think Anna came with us but otherwise we were without support staff.  The most memorable thing for me was that I had to sleep with you and turn you every hour because we didn't have your electric bed.  Finally I had to lift you I think 18 times a day because we didn't have your lift.  I don't think I could do that today.  Dad

  3. Hi Jen, while you may not have liked it, its part of who you are. i've traveled in Asia, South America, and Africa. some places i did not like at all, but the experience of going to those places, and working through the problems, and figuring out what I liked and didn't like, i think made me a better and more experienced person.

My favourite trip so far in my life was my Honeymoon with Samantha in Hawaii in November. True bliss and relaxation that was much needed! We were in Maui and we did some swimming and snorkeling and mostly relaxed in the sun. It was a lot of fun.

  4. I remember taking you to visit your Gran in Newport when you were little, I think you were 4 years old. Every morning before coming to see me you would would crawl downstairs to see the dogs. You loved riding your plastic tricycle, pushing with both feet on the ground to move forward. You would zip along the cement boardwalk at Bailey’s Beach with a big smile on your face. You also loves to cycle around the paved paths of Rovensky Park across the street from Grans house. We had a babysitter for you who took you to the kids club at the beach for play and arts and crafts. You loved it.

  5. In 1997 our family took an amazing cruise through the Panama Canal. It was a 12 day cruise that started in Acapulco and finished in Porto Rico with I think Eddie being the youngest kid on the trip. It was so memorable for a lot of reasons not the least of which Gran got to spend some quality time with her grandchildren on a huge cruise ship, NG
