Hunger is one of the problems of the world. I think people are selfish enough not to give food to hungry people. Some people work for a living. Some people choose not to work and starve in the street Have you ever been hungry?
I have to say I have not experienced homelessness or hunger. It's a terrible thing for those who find themselves in that predicament. Some people are homeless after flood or fire. I saw a house fire on the news today that has left a family with only the clothes on their back. I'm glad to see there are some 'go fund me' campaigns for some folks in that situation. Barbara
I do not know what it is like to be really hungry, fortunately. Think about all the terrible food wastage in the world, it is shockingly bad. How do we redirect it to the most needy? UN
There are many reasons people go hungry Jen, but it shouldn't happen to anyone in a country like Canada and has never happened to me. Famine occurs in countries that are over populated and have poor economies and infrastructure. The world has too many people and mother nature is collapsing under the weight of food production to feed then all. I worry about the future of our planet and the wildlife we share it with. I hope God will show us a way forward. Dad
You are right. It is a huge problem. IN a couple decades there will be 10-12 billion people on this planet, and i fear the hunger problems will keep getting worse before it gets better.
On a lighter note, despite my relatively easy access to food, i find myself always hungry...thinking about cheeseburgers and fries or steak and salad pretty much all day :)
I have experienced hunger and it was not nice, Jen. Some from fasting and other by circumstances. I still remember the feeling and sometime this kind of experience makes you become either greedy or grateful and generous. Luckily it makes me become the later than the first. I don't want to forget the feeling of being hungry from having not enough because it makes become a better person. It taught me to be thrifty and yet generous at the same time.unfortunately having too much food around also has a negative reaction too.
As your dad said, we hope there will be a solution to it. I hope people will learn and practice the art of sharing.
