Hi Jennifer, pippa here. When I was at your house yesterday your dad set me up to receive your blog. I have a few hobbies. I like to read (yes, I think re@song is a hobby) and I like to take my dog for long walks. I like to play Russian banks which your dad will remember from when he was a little boy (yes, he was once a little boy!!!!) and I like to rake leaves! I like baking cookies so maybe that counts as a hobby and I do not like doing house cleaning so it is definitely not a hobby.
I love reading and always have, as you know, Jen. I love walking and exercising. I play games with Jen every afternoon, one of which is Russian bank geoff clames he never learned it though. I like gardening and recently I have decided I could have been a good occupational therapist as I like to create things and solve problems for Jen and her care needs.
Hi Jen. I have always been a 'tinkerer' and am curious about how things work. I am told I have 'smart' hands which means that I can do lots of things with them. Thats one skill that helped me strart my renovation business. I used to make a lot of furniture and loved working on my house but as I do that for work now, I'm not so keen. Some call motorcycling a sport and others call it a hobby. I guess it depends on how and where you ride. Either way, I really love spending time on the bike exploring so lets call it a hobby. It takes me to places I wouldn't normally go and to meet people from all different walks of life. This summer I am planning to go to a rally called Sturgis in North Dakota where some years more that half a million motorcycles gather for fun. Check it out.
Hi Jen An interesting question. I feel anything I do is exploring my curiosity which can lead into a passion. And the passion is inspiring for me because it has a creative element to it. Being creative has me feel both present and alive! Yesterday I was cleaning the wood stove. Not my first choice of activities I would say. I noticed that I had been putting this task off for a few days, as I wold rather be cooking something delicious on the stove than cleaning it, However, and I find this often happens… I grumble and delay, yet, when I get into the job at hand, giving it my full attention, I end up enjoying the process. And loving the finished result. Like sweeping the floor. Emptying the garbage…Which then has me ask myself, why did I delay doing that chore. I enjoy the result, the process was both satisfying physically and mentally. Physically I like to be in my body, observe how it moves, adjusts, accommodates; and in all of that the scrubbing, washing and polishing it gave the stove a fresh and inviting shiny look that me excited to start cooking all over again today! Today it will be even more inviting when I put the cast iron pan on the stove too …hhhhhmm, I think I will start with caramelizing onions today!
Does that make cleaning the stove my new hobby?!
I, too, love to read. That absolutely is a great hobby!
Hi Jen, What a great question. I think hobbies are so important (especially to keep our minds engaged). I like to collect rare coins and paper money and now was just given a huge box of stamps that I will soon dig into to going back to the early 1900s. I love the history behind each piece and I have to do a lot of research as well so it is a very fun hobby. I wish that I could paint as I have many friends and people like you that are so creative but alas not in my genes!! And yes, reading is definitely a must. Love AP
Hi Jen Happy New Year! My favourite hobby is walking in the forest and enjoying its serenity. When I do get a chance I love to swim in a nice heated indoor pool and when no one’s at home I put up the music volume and sing along at the top of my voice. I also like dancing to salsa music which is a lot of fun and reading of course. Zen
Yes, I have lots of hobbies. Of course I love working in our garden. I also like building things and fixing things. Dad

Oops, a typo in my comment. It should have been ‘yes, I think READING is a hobby’ not rea@song though maybe whatever that is is a hobby somewhere…
