A very beautiful and peaceful visual “looking at” first thing this morning. Thank you! I wondered where that initial serene feeling came from… the balance of the image, the repetitive petals, the quiet shade of blue for the stamens, and the decorative intricate border reminding me of fine wrought iron gates. A balancing of the yin and the yang, the feminine and the masculine. Further exploring and discovery I found was in the calming effect, in the absence of the colour green, which is remarkable in that green is one of the more calming of all colours. Green as in plants, grass, shrubs, trees and yes, when we eat green (many, not all!) food, green veggies and fruits are grounding energetically.
The hotter 🔥 colours, often yellow and orange, are different in your painting as they are subdued and cooling, complimenting the flower petals (that resembled hydrangeas’ petals to my eye, a favorite of Mum’s.) A beautiful surprise for an “assuming” brain. I love the experience of dropping in deeper within myself while visually exploring your painting, giving myself time to feel the colours you chose! I feel quiet, peaceful, whole.
I can imagine painting this picture brought you much pleasure. I can feel it!
Thank you Jen, for a gentle wakening of my day, and a lovely heart warming remembering of Mum. You might remember her too, Auntie Ann.
Wishing you more pleasures and surprises to come in your day!
Very pretty jen. How long did it take you to finish it?
ReplyDeleteNice Jen. I think it would look nice as needle point for a cushion. Dad
