I like to spend my free time out doors. I don't really care what I'm doing, as long as I'm outdoors. I could be working in the garden or going for a hike or playing a game of golf. Happy New Year everyone!
Hi Jen, Your Dad and I share the same love of the outdoors. We did grow up together at Fairweather Bay. I am thinking this might have started both our love of the outdoors.
Climbing up and over the rocky terrain, knowing all the tree roots and rocky ledges for my feet, feeling the moss both underfoot and in my palms, grabbing tree branches to hoist myself up , feeling the different texture of tree barks, the smells, the visuals of the forest, the spacing of trees both standing and fallen, the animal tracks, varying animal poops let me know who has passed thru, sometimes remnants like antlers, or bones…sky above brilliant blue or all shapes and patterns of grey clouds responsible for the downpour of rain and puddles, mud and swamps. Hearing sounds, animal sounds and songs, the water running, all different in brooks, rivers, oceans, rains, music to my ears. Different types of air. Winds, temperatures. Being bundled up and good rain gear to stay warm and dry, with hot soup to follow, or shorts and a tshirt for sunny and warm with a dip in water to follow! Being outside is like reading a book…what surprise awaits the reader in the next sentence, the next paragraph the next chapter… how and what will Nature be showing me in the next ten minutes? The next hour? What’s around the corner…? Senses alive! New discoveries to be explored!
