Wow!! This fire painting is really beautiful. Different earth elements burn different colours. This reminded me of a special tradition we had. Every Christmas, when I was little, we were given some very special pinecones that had been coated in something ( I can't remember what). When we tossed one into our fireplace, it burned blue and green in the fire, sort of like your painting, only on a smaller scale. I'd forgotten about this. Your painting brings back many happy memories. Things were pretty simple back then. We hung our stocking on the mantle and on Christmas morning we were so excited to find a mandarin orange and wrapped chocolates!
I love the name, Jen, Gradient Fire, how unique! Yeh, it does look like the coloured pine cones we used to throw in the fire, just like Barbara described. Welcome back Barbara! Dad
Wow! Brings to mind what it might be like for someone in Ceremony walking over hot embers. Are you familiar with this? It is a practice from many cultures and has been done for 1000’s of years. A ritual for a Rite of Passage, also used in Ceremony for testing one ‘s Strength and Courage. People walk barefoot over hot embers without burning their feet. Your painting has me imagine what might be in my thoughts as I summon the courage to participate in a Firewalking Ceremony…. Putting away all extraneous thoughts and staying solely focused in being present, one footstep at a time. A practice for sure!
I will carry your image with me as I walk along the seashore today! Thank you!

Flames dancing in the late night cool clear air. It feels hot and cold all at the same time. Love it!

ReplyDeleteKind of looks like smoke emerging from a fire. I like the colours!
